Held in front of the historic Ulu Camii (Grand Mosque) in the central Sur district of Diyarbakır, the event saw representatives from the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation delivered impassioned addresses, highlighting the urgency of the situation and calling for concrete action to end the bloodshed. Amidst the crowd, one protester exclaimed, "Enough is enough! The world cannot continue to stand idly by while innocent lives are lost in Gaza."
They emphasized that to halt the killings and genocide in Gaza and achieve a lasting ceasefire, the conditions set by Hamas must be met. The foundation underscored that any agreement without Hamas' approval would lack validity.
Üzeyir Yuva, speaking on behalf of the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, delivered a press statement during the protest. Despite various local elections and other developments, Yuva stressed the importance of keeping Gaza and Jerusalem at the forefront of the agenda. He highlighted that the cause of Jerusalem is a shared concern for the ummah (Muslim community). Their weekly gatherings aim not only to express solidarity but also to contribute to more effective results in the path to the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Yuva further warned about the continuation of Zionist brutality in Gaza and other Palestinian regions, likening the scenes of violence to live broadcasts of massacre and genocide. He criticized the lack of serious measures taken to address the oppression, despite calls and condemnations from conscientious circles worldwide and responses from Islamic structures and organizations. Yuva highlighted a new phase in the Zionist regime’s plans, including forced displacement and destruction of Gaza's infrastructure.
Calling for Muslim unity in solidarity, Yuva emphasized that failure to intervene would allow the zionists to escalate their occupation and massacres. He urged regional countries, particularly Turkey and Egypt, to take concrete steps to end the genocide, lift the blockade, and ensure the reconstruction of destroyed cities.
The protest concluded with Yuva emphasizing the obligation for all Muslims to support the resistance for Palestine. He highlighted the significance of every effort made and every word spoken in the struggle for justice, concluding with a Quranic verse: "Allah is sufficient for me, there is no deity except Him; I have relied upon Him, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."
The protest, marked by chants of solidarity and calls for justice, served as a poignant reminder of the collective responsibility to stand up against oppression and injustice in Gaza.
