Turkish President: Trying to announce results hastily means usurpation of the national
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the hasty announcement of election results, considering it as an infringement on the national will.
He urges both his opponents and supporters to remain vigilant and patient until the official results are declared.
Taking to Twitter, Erdogan stated: "Vote counting is ongoing, and any rush to declare results undermines the integrity of the democratic process."
Erdogan's remarks come in response to conflicting preliminary figures, with government-affiliated media reporting his lead while opposition media highlights the progress of Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the candidate of the opposition "nation" coalition.
Although initial results from the Anatolia news agency show Erdogan leading the race, the margin is gradually narrowing in favor of his rival, Kilicdaroglu. (ILKHA)
