HÜDA PAR: Nowhere in Syria is safe for return

In its weekly statement regarding international issues, HÜDA PAR made important assessments on the safe return of Syrian refugees, the killing of Palestinian Journalist Shereen Abu Akleh by zionist occupation forces, and the Iraqi Parliament’s decision to ban normalization with zionist regime.

“The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) warned that more than 12.3 million Syrian children are in need of humanitarian aid and called for the collection of 10.5 billion dollars for aid to Syria in 2022,” HÜDA PAR reminded.

Pointing out that the humanitarian crisis has deepened day by day in the country where the civil war has been going on since 2011, HÜDA PAR said: “The rapid increase in the prices of basic necessities, including food, due to the Ukraine war, worsens the situation of those living in Syria and taking refuge in neighboring countries. The conditions have not yet been formed for the return. It is unscrupulous for Syrian refugees to be pushed into the middle of uncertainty unless safe and dignified return routes are established. In order to end the humanitarian drama in Syria, the political solution process must be started without preconditions. In addition, with international cooperation, the necessary economic support should be provided to the refugees in the country and in neighboring countries, and a joint fund should be established for the reconstruction of the country.”

Murder of Shereen Abu Akleh by the zionist occupation regime

Stating that the oppression and massacres of the zionist occupation regime knew no bounds, HÜDA PAR reminded that 51-year-old Al Jazeera journalist Shereen Abu Akleh was murdered last week while reporting the raids and attacks of the zionists on Jenin Refugee Camp.

Noting that Abu Akile was shot in the neck, despite wearing a helmet and a blue vest marked 'PRESS' in large capital letters, HÜDA PAR continued as follows: “Members of the press have immunity all over the world, even in the midst of war. Şirin Ebu Akile is not the first member of the press murdered by the Zionists. The PLO Department of Public Diplomacy stated that since 2000, zionist israel has killed 55 Palestinian journalists and kept 16 of them in prison. The Zionist occupation regime blockaded the area to prevent participation in the funeral of the murdered reporter and attacked the procession with batons, rubber bullets, and gas bombs. Attacking the corpse is barbaric and brutal. We condemn this situation. We call on the UN and all international institutions and organizations to open an independent investigation into this heinous incident.”

"Congratulations to the Iraqi Parliament"

Regarding the Iraqi Parliament’s decision to ban normalization with zionist israel, HÜDA PAR said: “According to the seven-article law passed by the parliament, individuals or institutions that take steps towards normalization with the occupying israel can be tried with the death penalty. We congratulate the Iraqi Parliament for ratifying this law, which states that ‘Any attempt to normalize relations with the occupying Zionists is unacceptable. Any economic, diplomatic, cultural, military or other relations with the Zionists are prohibited’. We hope that this decision of the Iraqi Parliament will set an example for all Islamic countries.” (ILKHA)
