The meeting will be the first of its kind to be held by top Hamas leaders from Gaza, the West Bank and abroad following the Movement’s last internal elections.

Between last February and July, the Hamas Movement organized its internal elections in stages in the three regions, Gaza, the West Bank, and abroad.

The Hamas leaders, who arrived in Cairo on Sunday, also plan to hold meetings with senior Egyptian officials, including Abbas Kamel, head of the Egyptian general intelligence service.

The meeting with Kamel will address several issues of mutual interest, especially different files related to the situation in Gaza.

The Hamas delegation includes the head of the political bureau Ismail Haneyya and heads of the Movement Yehya Sinwar (Gaza), Saleh al-Aruri (West Bank), and Khaled Mishaal (abroad), as well as other members of the political bureau. (ILKHA)
