Iran’s coronavirus death toll rises to 60,267
Iran has reported 86 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 60,267, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
After 8,495 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,648,174 in the country.
There are at least 3,738 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,406,845 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 10,972,109 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,552,120 with 115,070,703 cases and more than 90,792,798 recoveries. (ILKHA)
