US Electoral College to cast for Joe Biden as next president

The Electoral College is the group of presidential electors required by the Constitution to form every four years for the sole purpose of electing the president and vice president.

Each state appoints electors according to its legislature, equal in number to its congressional delegation.

Of the current 538 electors, an absolute majority of 270 or more electoral votes is required to elect the president and vice president.

According to the election results, Joe Biden has won 306 of the 538 electoral votes available - exceeding the necessary 270 while Trump has earned 232.

After these results, the presidential campaign for Donald Trump and its proxies pursued an aggressive effort to subvert the results of the election.

With more than fifty lawsuits and numerous false and unsubstantiated assertions, the Trump legal team alleged an international communist conspiracy, rigged voting machines, and polling place fraud had stolen the election from Trump.

Their claims of election fraud were rejected as lacking in merit by numerous judges, state and local election officials and the Justice and Homeland Security departments. (ILKHA)
