United States reports 63,663 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours
1,225 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 227,440, according to Johns Hopkins University.
8,587,899 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 63,663 new cases in the past 24 hours.
The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 155,459 deaths, India with 116,681 deaths and Mexico with 87,415 deaths.
Until now, at least 5,603,130 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.
At least 128,727,668 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.
New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 524,573 confirmed cases, with at least 33,523 deaths.
According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 1,137,968 people across the world. (ILKHA)
