Police said the detainees were released.

The demonstrations were said are the continuation of April 2018 protests against President Daniel Ortega.

Since April, hundreds of anti-government protesters have been arrested and many have been charged on "terrorism".

According to human rights sources, until October 2018, 325 people died as a result of the intervention against the demonstrators.
