"Unfortunately, we see the concrete example of statement 'Feb. 28 will last 1000 years'"

A delegation consists of Families Initiative for the People Victimized by Feb. 28 and FETO judiciary, paid a visit to Diyanet Union Diyarbakır branch and demanded support.

In his talk to the delegation, Ömer Evsen, the head of Diyanet Union Diyarbakır Branch, pointed out that the concrete example of the expression "28 February will last thousands of years" has been seen nowadays and emphasized that the way of retrial should be opened to the people who have been victimized and imprisoned by February 28 and FETO judiciary.

The "Initiatives of Families of People Victimized by February 28 and FETO Judiciary", who consists of families of Islamic prisoners, continue their visit to political parties and variety of NGOs to make the voice of imprisoned people to be heard.

Those Islamic prisoners are known to be imprisoned on various fake evidence and plots.

Referring to a period of unlawful decisions in Turkiye, Musab Arasan, spokesperson for the initiative of families who are victims of the FETO Judiciary, told the dramas of the families who are victims in this process.

"As you know, on February 28, a coup d'état took place and the judicial process was handled by the brigades of the military tutelage. In addition, many victimizations have occurred," Arasan said.

Spokesperson of initiative Arasan noted that FETO judiciary has emerged in the coming process. "They [FETO] ran a similar process, and hundreds of people are still in prison with their decisions."                                                                                                                                     

Arasan noted that victims of that period were forcibly signed under the statement contains a variety of crimes they did not commit. "Victims were signed statements after serious processes such as torture, threatening detainee with their families [damage, sexual abuse], make the detainee digging their grave, abductions, and disappearances."

"And in the process, which we have come, there was a coup d'état on the 15th of July. The new data, which came out after coup has shown us once again that these people should be brought up again, their files should be handled again."

Stating that dozens of criminal arrangements were made with the legislative decree previously, Altun underlined that these people [Islamic prisoners] were not included in these laws, and their voices were not heard, unfortunately.

Arasan lastly added that they demand the elimination of lawlessness exposed to victims of Feb. 28 and FETO judiciary. "We want the return of these people's rights and the elimination of this lawlessness. That's what we demand from the government."

Evsen expressed his satisfaction for the visit and emphasized that the February 28 process was written as a black mark in the history of the Republic of Turkiye.

"In particular, we believe that the investigation of the files related to these individuals, who are still in prisons with the trials in February 28 and the process, will either end their sentences according to information and documents or be tried again in accordance with the procedure of retrial to solve this problem," he said.

Saying that no one should be judged for his opinion. "I believe that the imprisonment of so many people for such a long time has no meaning and logic because of the work and actions that will harm the essential elements of the state."
