Giving lessons on Tafseer [Qur'an interpretation] in English based on the book of Muhammad Asad, the Message of the Qur'an, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Murat Kayacan, who is also a lecturer in Muş Alparslan University - Basic Islamic Sciences Department, made statements on the message of the Qur'an to be introduced to the western people in a better way.

Kayacan stated that the academic studies carried out by orientalists are intended to misrepresent Islam. "If we can introduce Islam in English if we can announce the truth, the falsification works of the orientalists will lose their effect," he said.

Stating that he has recorded at least 30 courses so far and published on the internet, Kayacan added that most of the scientific studies are made in English. Kayacan also called on Muslim scholars to give importance to English and spread their messages in a better way.

Speaking on the importance of English language, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Kayacan underlined that scientific studies are mostly conducted in English. "The world literature has formed in this way. Academicians have to keep their English alive regardless of where they work. This gives them a wider range of opportunities and allows them to take part in international academic studies," he added.

While talking about the current and future situation of Islam, Mr. Kayacan underscored that Islam now has an effective position on the world agenda.

"According to some research companies, Islam will rank top in 2050. It is in the hands of Muslims to accelerate the process. If Muslims make efforts and present Islam in the language they understand, then the messages will be more effective," he noted.

Kayacan said the eastern researchers, called orientalists, have conducted numerous studies on Islam, he warned that they still work currently on Islam.

"There is an Islam presented by those [orientalists] to the world. In addition, there is another Islam in the world presented by Muslims. As we have said, because literature is formed in English, what they say, their approaches are effective. If we can introduce Islam in English, if we can announce the truth, then their falsification works will have no effect." (Ayetullah Tarhan - ILKHA)
