According to the information, a rock fell on the workers from the ceiling inside of the Işıklar Mine Quarry tunnel in Soma.

At least 11 workers were injured in the incident. Upon the notification, many health and rescue team dispatched to the scene. After the first intervention, the injured workers were taken to Soma State Hospital and treated.

Source reported that injured workers have no vital wounds. On the other hand, workers trapped inside the tunnel were rescued.

Statement by the Minister of Energy

"The loss of life is out of the question. Friends and the team are there, trying to save the wounded," said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez in a statement. (ILKHA)
