Turkstat has announced Foreign Trade Indices data for October 2018.

As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index decreased by 2.3% in October. In the same month, compared to October 2017, while the index for fuels increased by 29%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) decreased by 7.9%, 5.8%, and 2.4%, respectively.

The overall export volume index increased by 15.7%
 
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 15.7% in October. Compared with October 2017, while the index for fuels decreased by 1.4%, the index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 9%, 14.2%, and 18.1%, respectively.
 
The overall import volume index decreased by 26.2%
 
In October, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 26.2%. The index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) decreased by 6%, 13.9%, 10%, and 31.6%, respectively.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index decreased by 0.8%
 
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 163.1 in September 2018, decreased by 0.8%, to 161.8 in October 2018. The calendar adjusted export volume index, which was 154.1 in October 2017, increased by 11.8%, to 172.2 in October 2018.
 
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 6.5%
 
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 118.8 in September 2018, decreased by 6.5%, to 111.1 in October 2018. The calendar adjusted import volume index, which was 148.1 in October 2017, decreased by 26.9%, to 108.2 in October 2018.
 
Terms of trade were 99.5 in October 2018
 
Terms of trade are calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 105.2 in October 2017, it decreased by 5.7 points to 99.5 in October 2018. (ILKHA)
