Yellow vests poured into the streets and quickly turned into a nation-wide movement protesting of the increase in fuel taxes in France, made the government step back for a second time.

Following the violence that took place on Saturday, the government suspended fuel taxes for 6 months and has taken another step back after the unwillingness of the yellow vest to give up its action on Saturday.

Elysee Palace announced in a statement that all of the fuel taxes envisaged for this year were canceled.

After this step, Elysee hopes that the parties would gather around a table and start looking for solutions to the problems.

Yellow Vests, while continuing to carry out actions throughout the country, another support came from the high school and college students to the protests actions.

Despite the violent incidents experienced during the Yellow Vests' actions, public support for the movement continues. 69 percent of the middle class, 76 percent of the rural population, 79 percent of poor people living below the minimum wage, 56 percent of white-collar high-level workers support the actions. (ILKHA)
