Mahmoud Muhammad, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party [KDP], held a press conference following the Presidential Council meeting in Pirmam city, chaired by Masoud Barzani, the former Iraqi Kurdistan Region President.

Expressing that the party situation and other political issues were discussed at the meeting, Mahmoud Muhammad stated that they started to work to fulfill their promises to the people as KDP.

In order to improve the stability and living conditions of the people in Iraqi Kurdistan, they will take this responsibility with the other parties who want to take part in the government, said Muhammad.

The spokesperson explained that they intend to conduct a government study in the region in line with the targets set in the next four years.

"The unification of institutions that have not joined so far and the construction of a strong government will be the main task of the next four years," said Muhammad

Stating that they have set out with the slogan of 'a strong Kurdistan', Muhammad added that: "Strong Kurdistan also takes place in cooperation with all institutions and organizations."

Mohammed said they set up a commission to meet with other parties in the coming days.

For all these issues, the KDP spokesman Muhammad, who emphasized that they reviewed the situation and evaluated the proposals within the party, said: "The proposal of Mr. Nechirvan Barzani for the presidency of the Kurdistan region has been accepted."

Mohammad also announced that Masrour Barzani, Undersecretary of the Kurdistan Security Council, will be appointed to form the government. (ILKHA)
