ILKHA's correspondent Nihat Kanat, who followed the excavations at the milk plant of SÜTAŞ facility near Çeltiksuyu, a village of Bingöl, east of Turkiye, where villagers reacted on the grounds that the fields were restricted, was unlawfully detained by the gendarmerie while his equipment and images were confiscated.

Cattle breeders living in the hamlet of Küçüktepe, near the village of Çeltiksuyu stating that they have around 5,000 small cattle and bovine animals reacted that the field where animals grazing were allocated to SÜTAŞ within the scope of the investment.

The villagers, who stated that this situation caused them to be victimized, had demanded that the problem be resolved.

According to information, SÜTAŞ began excavations around the facility on early Thursday. In order to ensure the safety of the work, the gendarmerie was sent to the region, while the village residents were gathered around the facility for the reaction that the pasture areas were taken from them.

ILKHA's correspondent Nihat Kanat went to the region early Thursday to view and report the reaction of village residents. Encountered to gendarmerie obstacle, Kanat was told that he is not allowed to take pictures in the region and was arrested by the security members.

Gendarmerie teams, who did not settle for detaining, also confiscated images and devices captured by ILKHA's reporter Kanat.
