In a statement made by the Van Provincial Security Directorate on August 1, the Narcotics Crime Branch Directorate was tasked with the search for narcotics at a cargo transfer center operating in the city of Tuşba. Upon the reaction of the dog, 502 packets packed into the household intended to be sent to Istanbul totaled 384 kilos and 594 grams of heroin was taken over.

In the statement, it was noted that an FT named person was detained on charges of "Drug or Stimulant Drug Trafficking / Drug Substance Transmission" and that the investigation proceeded in a multifaceted manner.
