Villagers whose water pumps have been broken in Dadaş village in Hazro district of Diyarbakir have been having water problems for about a month.

The children of the village and the women are trying to fill water bottles from the fountain and take them with their donkeys to their homes without paying attention to the summer heat.

The fact that the village is waterless where two thousand people live has caused the reaction of the villagers against the authorities who cannot find a solution despite their [villagers] application to fix the problem.

The Dadaş Village Head Hüseyin Dalgıç stated that there are 160 houses in the village and people try to survive due to the lack of water.

"Our children and women carry out water bottles with donkeys or on their shoulders. We are in a lot of trouble. There is no water for the residents and animals in the village. People and animals are thirsty. We applied to the district Governor and he spoke to DISKI. We also went to Diyarbakır and applied to authorities. Head of DISCI says the village will get the water but still, there is no water. It is not winter so we could melt the snow and provide water, we are in the heat of summer," said Hüseyin Dalgıç, the head of the village.
