Syrian Diana, 10, and Fatima Hussein, 8, whose faces are burnt because of bombs hit in tents during the war in Syria, have the most painful and deep traces of war in their tiny bodies.

Escaping of civil war erupted 7 years ago in their country, Syrian children, who took refuge in Turkiye due to a war they are not taking a side, are the most victims and continue their lives despite all the difficult conditions.

The only dream of children bearing the most painful and ugly traces of war in their tiny bodies is a world without war, without tears, pain, death, and immigration.

The civil war in Syria, which forced thousands of people to escape from home, left many orphans, without mother and stole their future, caused thousands of children to lose their lives and thousands of children were injured in the last 7 years.

Mother, father and 2 siblings of the Syrian sisters, whose face and part of their bodies had burned in the tent they were living, also slightly wounded in the attack.

Fleeing to Turkiye with their family after the attack and settled in a charity house belongs to Ihsan and Services Association in Gaziantep, Diana and Fatima Hussein brothers, despite 5 surgeries they have experienced until now, are upset for not having their old face.

Diana Hussein, who has met with the most painful face of the war yet, at the age of 10, told ILKHA correspondent that they do not want to go out even on the streets because of their burn marks on their faces and said that their only wish is to be able to walk around like other children and to get their health.

Indicating that they came to Gaziantep for treatment about 2 years ago, Hussein stated that although she had gone under surgery 5 times with his sister, they did not get to their old [normal] faces and said: "We have settled in a place outside of Aleppo when our house in Aleppo is destroyed due to civil war. After we stayed there for a while, they attacked our tent with bomb and guns. There was a serious conflict. My mother, my father, my brothers, and me, 5 people were wounded when the bomb hit our tent. My parents and my brothers were slightly injured. But as I and my brother burnt in the attack. We came to Turkiye for treatment after injuries. We had 5 operations here. But our face still away from like it should be."

"I do not like myself because my face is like that"

Diana Hussein, who stated that she wanted to live like normal children, said, "When I woke up in hospital, I looked at the mirror and faced to another person's face. It wasn't my face. And I said, 'This cannot be my face.' Because the face has changed a lot. I am very sad because of my face. I want to have my old face. I want to be like my other friends. I do not like myself because my face is like that. I even hate myself. Because my face is not like the old one anymore."

"We pray to God that this war is over and for children not to die"

Stating that war brings nothing but blood, tears, and pain, Hussein said that her biggest dream is a world without war and added: "I wish there was no war."

"Without this war, neither I, my brother, nor my mother, nor my father, nor any of my other brothers, would be like this. Not only us but also many children have suffered the pain of this war. There are even children who are worse off than we are. We pray to God that this was is over and for children not to die anymore."

"Children are not playing games with us because we are like that"

Expressing that children are making fun of them while playing in the streets, Hussein said that they could not go out to the streets and parks, saying "My sister and I cannot go to the park, or street because of the scars on our faces. Nor can we play with children. Because they make fun of us, they do not like us. Some kids are afraid of us. We are no longer like other children. Therefore, we do not want to go out. Because we both are embarrassed and we do not want to be bullied by other children. Children are not playing games with us because we are like that."

Hussein stated that she wants both hers and her sisters' wounds to be wiped out, and expressed that they want to be back to their old times with an aesthetic surgery, also asked for a helping hand to reach them. (İbrahim Koçyiğit - ILKHA)
