Gina Haspel, who is known with her different tortures methods on the detainee, appointed to the Central Intelligence Agency [CIA], one of the highest level institutions of the United States. Haspel is the first woman to lead the institution.

Gina Haspel, 62, born October 1, 1956, joined the US Central Intelligence Agency in 1985. On February 1, 2017, she was appointed Deputy Director of the CIA by US President Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump had appointed Mike Pompeo to the CIA Presidency after January 20, 2017, elections. While Pompeo set up his own team, he gave Vice Presidency to Gina Haspel.

Pompeo, in his written statement regarding the assignment Haspel, described her as "Sample an intelligence employee", and identified her as "entrusted person that conclude given duties in the best way. "We were very lucky to have her intelligence skills," he also noted.

Haspel led the CIA prison in Thailand before becoming Vice President of the CIA.

Haspel, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, is known for frequently applying the "waterboarding" torture method, known as a "black hole", in Thailand's prisons, which cause a feeling of drowning.

Having appointed Havel to lead CIA, whose name is remembered by the tortured methods in the CIA's secret facilities in different parts of the world, has been widely echoed in the United States. (ILKHA)
