The war in Syria, where hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives in 2011 due to the spread and intensification of conflicts, led to the emergence of a humanitarian crisis. According to UN data, 6 million people left their places of residence and migrated to other regions in Syria. 5 million Syrians have flocked to other countries.

When people migrated, they knock the doors of their neighbors as the first option. The first countries of this option are Turkiye, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, and Libya.

Jordan, which has hosted 1 million 300 thousand Syrian refugees, recently granted a working permit to 88 thousand asylum seekers.

Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, who traveled to Jordan for official contacts, said that they found an important step for the decision taken by the Jordanian government. After visiting a factory where the refugees work, he said, "So it's a very small number. Why? Because people don't feel secure," he said. "And when you see the war becoming more and more complicated, with more and more actors involved, then you get more worried. This internationalization of the Syrian war is what needs to be avoided because it takes us further away from a solution." (ILKHA)
