Nasser Hariri, Chairman of the Higher Council for Negotiations formed by Syrian opponents who held a press conference after the two-day Syrian meeting in Austria's capital, Vienna, said that the international process of testing the Assad regime's determination for the political transition was over.

Stating that they have discussed the details and probable outcome of Sochi National Dialogue Congress after the two-day meeting, Hariri said: "As the opposition delegation we have made positive talks with the UN, Russia, Turkiye and other countries. We have decided not to go to Sochi as Higher Council."

Hariri also stressed that they will continue their political transit negotiations in Geneva.

The Russian Foreign Ministry invited 1600 people to the Congress to be held in Sochi.

The letter of invitation stated that the Sochi conference should support the formation of a dialogue between the Syrian parties in a wide range of countries and aims to protect the integrity of the country and the independence of the country by forming favorable conditions for a new Syria for all strata of society.

During a two-day special meeting held in Vienna on the 25th and 26th of January as Geneva negotiations, negotiations were underway on the preparations for the National Dialogue Congress and on the constitutional commission, which is expected to be formed in Congress. (ILKHA)
