Aylan Kurdi's painting attracted great interest

Syrian painter Mohammed Barazi, who settled in Gaziantep with his family due to the civil war in Syria and worked as a painting teacher at a center where Syrian children were educated, opened an exhibition consisting of the longing he felt for his country and the wrath of war reflected canvases.

Barazi, 38-years-old, who settled in Turkiye's Gaziantep with his family, began providing education to Syrian and Turkish children with painting in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality of Refuge Community Center.

Barazi, who has opened a total of 8 painting exhibitions to date with oil, watercolor and charcoal works, paints more war environment, persecution, and exile in the paintings.

Barazi reflects the people living in his country to his canvases, opened many painting exhibitions including the painting of Ayhan Kurdi, who has become the symbol of the Syrian immigrants with his little body that washed ashore.

The painting of baby Aylan Kurdi, which has become a symbol of the Syrian refugees, became the most painting that everyone was most interested in visiting the exhibition. The painting that shows the deep pain is vividly expressing the painful tragedy.

Opening the exhibition in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Onat Kutlar Hall, Barazi provides information to ILKHA's correspondent said that he is happy of the opening of the 8th exhibition in Turkiye.

Barazi, who said that his paintings had a great interest, stated that Aylan Kurdi, who became the symbol of the Syrian immigrants with her tiny body that was interested the most in painting.

Saying that he started painting Aylan Kurdi baby right after she drowned, Barazi stated that the Syrian people are not just a refugee community and that it is important to show that they are also in art.

"There are beautiful pictures on this show that I have prepared with my students. I have paintings that I prepared before. I have prepared this exhibition with my students. According to previous exhibitions, this exhibit attracted a better interest.
