Hope Caravan delegation meets Darbandikhan District Governor

Hope Caravan delegation, which is continuing its contacts with the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in Darbandikhan of Germiyan Province, where 5 people died in the earthquake of 7.3 magnitudes on last Sunday, met with the District Governor Muhammad Nasih Hesen.

District Governor Hesen who received Hope Caravan Foundation, IHO EBRAR, and Pro-Orphan Association in his office, informed the delegation of these relief agencies about the damage caused by the earthquake.

Welcoming the delegation at the door, Hesen said that they are very pleased that the delegation came to the region to bind up the wounds of the earthquake victims.

"Cash help is needed more"

Hesen said: "We are making damage determinations. Different numbers come from different places every day. Some houses were seriously damaged. There are 30 people seriously injured. We have three hospitals. Two of them are completely destroyed, and someone needs repair. 5 of our schools were damaged which education continues. Our 15 schools have been severely damaged. In our 13 schools, there was little damage. It needs to be renovated. We are suffering serious water problems because 3 large generators that meet water need of the city are completely destroyed. There has been serious devastation in our district. There is a need for more cash assistance in the construction of these houses."

Cemal Çınar, vice chairman of Hope Caravan Foundation, stated that they had carried out work in three days in the earthquake region, recalled that they launched aid campaigns to bind up the wounds of the earthquake victims through representatives in Turkiye and Europe and stated that they provided aid to hundreds of families in Darbandikhan district.
