Following the resignation of Melih Gökçek, Mustafa Tuna the mayor of Ankara's Sincan was elected as the Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. Tuna was elected president, won 104 votes out of 136. Civil Engineer M.Sc. Assoc. Dr. Tuna has held the second-period Sincan's mayoral duties.

Who is Mustafa Tuna?

Born in Şarkışla in 1957, Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Tuna graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 1980 as a construction engineer.

In 1982, Tuna graduated from ITU Civil Engineering Faculty Department of Environmental Engineering as a "high engineer" and trained in the USA in 1982-1983. Fulfilled all academic requirements.

In 1998, Tuna, who was also got associate professor decree in the Department of Water Pollution and Control, has continued his academic studies in environmental engineering, infrastructure planning and engineering economics in parallel with his private sector practice.

Having numerous scientific publications on the national and international scale, Tuna won a publication incentive award from TUBITAK for its international publications. (ILKHA)
