Destruction of one-storey houses has begun in Diyarbakır's Sur in Alipaşa and Lalebey neighborhoods within the scope of urban transformation decision that taken in 2013 for the expropriation and demolition of buildings. Citizens also complain about unjust treatment is growing with each passing day.

The residents of the neighborhood, whose water has been cut for 5 months, reminded that they have passed the blessed Ramadan in a thirsty and miserable state, saying that the price determined for their homes is very low.

The neighborhood, indicating that the Sur District governor has warned them to evacuate their houses for the last time, stated that they do not want to leave their homes.

Neighborhood residents Hatice Gulay said they want to stay in their homes in Sur.

Evlerinden çıkmaları halinde zorluk çekeceklerini dile getiren Gülay, 3 katlı evlerine 54 bin lira bedel verildiğini ve bu bedel ile ev alamayacaklarını söyledi.

Rabia Tülay, who is 90 years old, said that the price they determined for her house is not the right price of the house.

Gülay said that they did not want to give their house, "They gave a little money for my house. That's why I do not give my house. Look, I got sick because of this. My house is worth 400 thousand liras. I will give my house if they give me that money.
