National Security Council [NSC] will hold a meeting at the Presidential Complex for the first time on Monday, October 16, under the presidency of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The extension of the state of emergency would be discussed at the NSC first, then it will be brought to the Parliament.
Following receipt of the recommendation for the extension of the state of emergency for a period of 3 months, the decision will convene again after the signing of Ministers chaired by Erdoğan received the NSC will be sent to the Parliament for consideration.
The Prime Minister's resolution on the extension of the state of emergency for a period of 3 months, valid from July 19, 2017, was approved by the TBMM General Assembly. Following talks on 19 October before the General Assembly will be held for the fifth time the state of emergency will be extended for another 3 months. (ILKHA)
