"Women and children most affected by war"
The Minister of Family and Social Policy, who continued her contacts in Gaziantep, pointed out the civil war in Syria and said that the most affected people were women and children.
Family and Social Policy Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya paid a visit to Syrian refugees’ container city in the scope of contacts in Gaziantep’s Nizip. Minister Kaya visited the place where the women receiving handicraft training, chatted to the women there and examined the products they made.
Later on, Kaya visited a class where the children of Syria were educated and she distributed various gifts to the children by paying close attention to the children. Kaya also visited a family in a container town, told journalists that women and children were the most affected by the war and that 75 percent of the nearly 12 million refugees who escaped from Syria and fled to other countries are women and children.
Indicating that Turkiye has not remained silent against this human drama that has been living in Syria for 6 years, Kaya said, “We both opened our doors and opened our hearts for Syria refuge in our country.”
