Hamas dissolves administration in Gaza
Hamas has announced that dissolved the administrative committee set up earlier in the Gaza Strip in order to "end the political division".
By emphasizing the “Heeding the effort put forward by Egypt in the framework of finalizing the Palestinian political division,” Hamas has announced that they have dissolved the Administrative Committee in Gaza.
The Hamas movement said Sunday it has dissolved its administrative committee, -formed earlier this year- to the outrage of the Palestinian Reconciliation Government, agrees to hold general elections, enter talks with Fatah, and allow the national reconciliation government to operate in Gaza. Also addressed for the establishment of a national unity government in the context of the implementation of Cairo Agreement.
The Administrative Committee formed last March by Hamas government in Gaza for the conduct of government affairs, was not accepted by Abbas management. Hamas had presented a new political initiative at the beginning of the month of August as part of an end to the division between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including the termination of the administrative committee.
