President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan talked on the phone with Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

According to the information; Erdoğan stressed that the increase in human rights violations directed against Arakanese Muslims led to deep worries in the whole world, especially in Islamic countries.

Erdoğan and Suu Kyi discussed the issue of how the current crisis could be resolved and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of the region.

“Caused worries and indignation”

Erdoğan pointed out that Turkiye condemns the terrorist attacks and attacks targeting innocent civilians, and pointed out that the turning of the issue into a serious humanitarian crisis caused anxiety and indignity.

Must avoid disproportionate use of force

Erdoğan stressed that Turkiye support efforts to solve the problem, to avoid using disproportionate force in this process and to show maximum sensitivity to the civilian population.

Erdoğan was also reported to have been in talks with various leaders regarding the brutality in Myanmar, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid. (ILKHA)
