At a joint press conference with Palestinian President Abbas, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “The Israeli administration must now put an end to these occupation attempts that undercut the possibility of two state governments.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a joint press conference after the talks between the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the delegations held in the Presidential Complex, explained the discussions they had made.

President Erdoğan said: “It should also be known that the key to success here is to protect the rights of the Palestinians. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters have exerted extraordinary efforts to resolve the problem but they have not gotten their efforts’ worth. The fact that Israel continues to increase its illegal settlement activities on lands that belong to our Palestinian brothers and sisters is the epitome of that. The Israeli administration should end these occupation attempts that undermine the possibility of a two-state solution.”

Erdoğan said that in today's consultations Palestinian President Abbas, addressing the current situation and steps that can be taken in this context, said: “We, as Turkiye, are ready to support efforts to revive the peace process.”

“Our greatest desire is that Palestinian children feel the joy of Eid just like of children. We are mobilizing all our means for that. Lastly, we have delivered a humanitarian aid shipment of 10 thousand tons to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkish Red Crescent continue their projects for Palestine. Also, our civil society organizations are conducting field work. In this regard, we have completed the construction of a hospital in Tubas. We have also built a hospital in Gaza and now completing its medical equipment. Also, the project of constructing 320 residential units for our Gazan brothers and sister, who lost their homes, is in its last phases,” said President Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan stressed that the Palestinian economy has given great importance to the mobilization of its own human power to gain a growth momentum and that an industrial region project that will provide 5,000 Palestinian jobs in Jenin and become a center for regional economic integration is carried out by the Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges.

Erdoğan added that the preservation of the historical city center of Jerusalem and the cultural heritage of Islam there is also an important issue, adding that “The decision taken by UNESCO in this context is of great importance.”

“We hope to have the transfer of the $ 10 million grant for the urgent needs of the Palestinian government in the coming days,” Erdogan said in his statement.

“As of October, we will include our Palestinian brothers and sisters in e-visa, which will further ease their travel to our country.” Thanking President Abbas for his solidarity with Turkey in the face of FETO’s coup attempt, President Erdoğan said: “We will continue to increase our efforts for the recognition of the State of Palestine on all international platforms,” said President Erdoğan.

Thanking President Erdoğan for his support for the establishment of hospitals, schools and industrial zone in Jenin, contributed much to the passing of many projects in Palestine, Palestinian President Abbas, also emphasized that “We found it important Turkiye’s heading as the President of the Islamic Summit. We appreciate the role of Turkiye in the context of the whole Islamic Cooperation Organization and its members' collective action on al-Quds.” (ILKHA)
