Iranian Foreign Ministry Spox: Bakıri's visit to Ankara was a very constructive visit

Behram Kasımi, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, assessed the visit of the Chief of General Staff Major General Bakıri to Turkiye during his weekly press conference.

“This visit was unique in the direction of the most successful collaborations we have done recently with Turkiye, as reflected in the press, and as the authorities say, our close neighbors.” said Kasımi.

Noting that the Major General Bakıri went to Turkiye upon an official invitation, Kasımi explained that Iranian General Staff was in constructive dialogue with the authorities.

Describing the Iranian Chief of General Staff Bakıri's visit to Ankara as a unique and successful visit, Kasımi hoped that these consultations would continue and that the talks could continue in Tehran in the future.

Kasımi stressed that the strengthening of bilateral relations at the point of regional cooperation of such talks between Iran and Turkiye could be an important influence in the context of regional stability contribution.

Noting that such visits were made during a certain period of the relations process of the countries, Kasımi pointed out that the relations between Iran and Turkiye have gone from one stage to another and that they can exchange views at the highest level in the military and defense field. “This is a breakthrough in the relations process between Iran and Turkiye,” stated Kasımi.
