Many of the villages of Batman's Sason province that dazzle with the hills, plains, streams, landscapes and green images on the skirts of Mount Mereto are not asphalted as their roads until now, bringing troubles in transportation.

While many villages and hamlet roads, which are usually known as “mihallemi” Arabic people, are caused by the grievances of not seeing the asphalt face, village dwellers are waiting for the authorities to solve their problems.

Speaking to ILKHA correspondent, people of Sason said that the district center and the villagers had unique beauty but that many people are not visiting because of the roads are bad and frequent landslides.

Saying that no authority will say "we are not informed, we do not know", the Sason people said that the problem of the road was not solved when the news was made several times at different times and that they would repeat their demands until the trouble is over.

Sabahattin Atalay says that they want to the village roads to be asphalted and that neither tires nor cars can stand on these roads. “This road is a road connecting Sason and Kozluk districts. Now we want these roads to be made as soon as possible. We have a common road of Sason to Derince. There are 30 villages and about a hundred hamlets on that common road. We can’t drive because of the potholes. Our cars are miserable on that road. We want our roads to be made as soon as possible. We have hundreds of village roads like this. We want the authorities to tackle this problem and take away our victimization. All other village roads were made of asphalt. Our common roads have not even been paved. In Sason, only 2-3 villages’ road are asphalt. All other villages are deprived of this service.”

Burhan Bugan also said, “This road is the path to Sason and Geçittaltı (Gox) village. We have hundreds of broken roads like this one. We live in 2017’s Turkiye and unfortunately, there are hundreds of roads like these. We are currently buying 2017 vehicles and can use this car for up to 6 months.”

Ergün Seyidoğlu who says that he is a driver on Sason roads “I have been living in Sason center for 8-9 years. We often visit our villagers. You see the situation of the roads. Most of our cars break on the road and we can’t go.” (M. Sait Çelik - ILKHA)
