Vahdettin Tügen, one of the inhabitants of Asakaya village, stated that following the clearance of the laid DM11 AP / P type mines, the military authorities said that the villagers could use land, but while they were feeding animals in the land, one animal died as a result of stepping on a mine.

In 2016-2017, the village irrigation project came, but villagers were unable to work in the field due to land-mine fear said Tügen and added that this project was suspended. Tügen spoke to the authorities for years to overcome the grievances they had lived.

Tugan said, “We cannot harvest or come close to our 100 acres of land due to missing mines, and military authorities have forbidden it. They said: We will either make it an expropriation or give it a rent. We have not been able to find them, so we cannot benefit from our lands, and we want the authorities to solve the problem as soon as possible.” (ILKHA)
