Orphans and Victims Aid and Solidarity Association [Yetim-Der] organized a mass wedding ceremony in Diyarbakır for 22 couples under the project of “Step to the Peace”.

The mass wedding ceremony held at the Newroz Park Rally in the town of Bağlar began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an.

Mehmet Ekinci, Deputy Chairman of Orphan Association made a speech at the ceremony stated that marriage has numerous benefits for the individual and society.

Ekinci stated that they have organized a mass wedding ceremony for the couples that they are helping with in the project “Step to the Peace” they started in 2011 and said that marriage is one of the precious deeds in Islam.

“Marriage is one of the most precious things in Islam,” Ekinci said and added: “The Prophet [PBUH] said: 'Marriage is my Sunnah. Whoever does not act with my Sunnah is not from me. Get married! For I will stand up to you with your multitude. Those who have the material opportunity should immediately get married. If anyone has no material then perform fast. Because fasting is breaking the lust for them.’ There are innumerable benefits in marriage, for individual and society. These are the divine blessings that contribute to the happiness of worldly life and eternal life. Getting married make man stay away from sins. Marriage is the cornerstone of the family. Our Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] suggested marriage, and he became an example to us by marrying.”

“A harmonious partner is a source of happiness and trust for both women and men”

Ekinci stated that human is not an existence that can live alone in his/her life, “Human needs a helpmate to live to meet his needs. A harmonious partner is a source of happiness and trust for both women and men. The painful-sweet days of life are shared together. The world and the hereafter can be earned upon Allah's commands, in accordance with the beloved Prophet's advice.One of these orders and advice is; The marriage of the single person. While our religion encourages marriage; also did not welcome delaying marriage with the worry of not getting along or falling poorly. Our Almighty Book In the Surat Nur of the Qur'an, it is recommended for singles to marry; even if they are poor, married people will be enriched with the help of Allah because of their marriage.”

“Marriage is the beginning of a new life”

"Helping those who want to marry is among the tasks of the Muslims," said Ekinci and continued as:

“Orphan Association has started a campaign named ‘Step to the Peace’ since 2011 with the consciousness of this duty that our religion has loaded on us. The association continues activities in order to contribute marrying young people who have financial difficulties at the point of marriage, give courage and to prevent non-marital relations in the society. Up to now, 155 couples have supported marriage and hopefully, 22 couples’ marriage ceremony will take place today. God bless them. Finally, I want to give a small recommendation to marrying couples; how you start a business is how it goes. Marriage is also the beginning of a new life. If we start this way that Allah and His Resurrection are pleased with this good work, I hope that it will continue.”
