In Mardin’s Kızıltepe in Boğaziye Neighborhood, a cow belong to Abdulvahap Erden gave birth a calf with single-eyed and bearded, astounded people.

The calf born with single-eyed, bearded and had no nose died a few minutes after birth. People who first experienced were in shock of seeing such a thing in their life.

Abdulvahap Erden, the cow owner, said that despite the 3 days after that, still in shock for such event. Erden said that the first 2 births were normal of that cow but he had realized that something is abnormality after 9 months and 23 days from the last pregnancy.

Erden, who said that they had contact with a veterinarian, stated that the cow had been given the birth by caesarean and said, “We waited for the calf after birth but we met with a strange thing. I am still in the shock. Calf with one eyed and instead of nose there was goatee beard. The eye was bigger. For the first time we encounter such a thing. What can we say that Allah has sent this to draw a lesson.”

Erden, in his words, demanded that the authorities investigate this situation.

“Allah has sent it to the people to take a sign and repent"

Redde, the oldest of the village, is about 110 years old, said, referring to this situation for the first time she said:

“There is no understanding of religion, faith, trust, conscience and honesty among the people. Till my 110 age, I have fed many animals, cows, sheep, they would give birth twin but I haven’t experienced something like this. God has sent people to take a sign and repent. But unfortunately no one repents, at this time we do not have repentance, we have to take note and repent.”

Veterinary Musa Koçhan who operated caesarean section said that he has not experienced such event in his career time. “Saturday morning owner of cows called from the village. He said that the cow 9 months, 23 days late. To give birth in a normal cow 9 months 10-15 days. We went to the village checked. We had an examination. We realized there was an anomaly in the animal. We took the animal to the cesarean section and after the operation we examined the calf. There was only one eye, the teeth were bad, goatee bearded, bearded was yellow. The sound of the calf was not a normal calf’s sound, it was a strange sound. Half of its head looked like human’s head. While looking at from the side, it was looked like a dog. The calf died 10 – 15 minutes after born.”

“Animal feeding can be caused”

Koçhan said, “We think that such cases originate from a kind of grass that the animals usually eat. Another cause may be an artificial insemination or a disease in which the animal has passed after being naturally fertilized. (Mehmet Aslan, M.Salih Keskin - ILKHA)
