In Japan, number of people who lost their lives due to excessive rainfall and floods rose to 18. The rescue teams continue to search for the missing 27 people.

As the precipitation continues, the 500 Japanese were disconnected from the outside world, according to the media.

In Kyushu, one of the four islands in southern Japan, the meteorology was reported to be the heaviest rainfall recorded to date. It has been noted that during the last 12 hours the rain level has exceeded 50 centimeters while excessive rainfall caused floods and landslides. When the streets and houses were flooded, the authorized units were called to leave their homes for hundreds of thousands of people.

Thousands of people abandoned their homes in emergency shelters. The rescue teams are trying to reach out to the people who are disconnected from the outside world despite the heavy rain and mud. The helicopters in the rescue team cannot take off because of excessive rainfall.

The Japan Meteorological Office has warned that heavy rains will continue. (ILKHA)
