The Netherlands implements June 16th ban also on July 15th

The Netherlands, which applied for scandal obstacles before the June 16 referendum, announced that the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Türkeş, which is expected to participate in the remembrance program of July 15 coup attempt, will not be welcomed.

Dutch Council of Ministers announced that the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş on the year coup attempt anniversary to the Netherlands for a memorial ceremony will not be welcomed.

“In view of the current situation of the common relations between our countries, the participation of the Türkeş or other members of the Turkish government is not desirable," the Dutch Foreign Ministry statement said.

In the Netherlands, short before the the general elections that held in March, the Dutch ministers announced that visits by the Turkish ministers, who wanted to campaign for the April 16 referendum, would not be allowed, and there was tension between the two countries.

As part of the 16 June referendum, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, Minister of Family and Social Policy, was prevented from even visiting the embassy in the Netherlands.

Like many European countries, the Netherlands supported the “no” front before the June 16 referendum on the presidential government system.

In a statement made earlier by the Union European of Turkish Democrats (UETD), Tuğrul Türkeş was reported to be participating in the “July 15th Democracy and National Union Day” event to be held at the Orpheus Appeldoorn Congress Center on July 11th. (ILKHA)
