The Platform of Prophet Lovers made a statement about the itikaf Sunnah which among the forgotten Sunnah today and made a call for to perform itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan.

In the statement made by the platform about the itikaf, “Itikaf; It is an act of obtaining a spiritual gain by aiming at Allah's intercession, a period of staying in certain masters in mosques in order to get rid of the world's stifling, exhausting and grandiose occupation, to disguise the souls that are polluted with sins, to enlighten the darkened hearts with worship, prayer and dhikr.”

In the statement that Prophet Muhammad entered into the itikaf in the last ten days of every Ramadan, “Our dear Prophet [PBUH] entered itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan each year after immigrated to Medina. He was spending all night and day with worship and strongly recommended it to believers. Our dear Prophet couldn’t perform itikaf in a year because He was on excursion, but then in the next year He performed 20 days which shows the importance of itikaf to us.”

“Performing itikaf is to abolish the responsibility”

Performing itikaf should be in the masjid said in the statement and added, and there are some rules fixed in Quran in Bakara 187 about performing itikaf.

“We must endeavor to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in itikaf"

“In order to revive this enormous Sunnah, which is forgotten especially among Muslims, all Muslims must be sensitive. Especially to gain the spiritual food we are in need of, the best way to approach our Lord with repentance, praise and worship.
