2 tons of drugs seized in PKK operations
In the operation carried out on PKK in Diyarbakır, 6 suspects were taken into custody, 2 tons 290 pounds of drugs were seized.
On May 28, 2017 in Diyarbakir, six suspects were apprehended in operations against PKK in rural areas. 2 tons of 290 kilo drugs and 6 thousand 632 root cannabis plants were seized during the operations.
Since May 28, 2017 in Diyarbakır, operations against PKK in the countryside has been continuing.
“With the participation of a total of 10,047 security personnel, including 8 Commando Battalion, 200 Police Special Operations personnel and one thousand 457 Security Guard, operations are still on going,” said Governorate of Diyarbakır in the statement.
In the ongoing operation; seven suspects were taken into custody in a search made in a total of 117 houses in 5 villages.
In the explanations, it was stated that at the controls made at 40 Road Control Point, 151 vehicles and 592 persons were questioned. 2 persons were referred to the court for possession of unlicensed hunting rifles.
In the operation, a total of 290 kilograms of narcotic psychotropic substance, a ton of 545 kilos of dry and 745 kilos of powdered marijuana, and 6 thousand 632 root cannabis plants were seized. (ILKHA)
