The cast iron workers who have to work at elevated temperature for their profession during the blessed Ramadan month are working near of the quarries reaching a temperature of 1,500 degrees and have their fast despite the difficult conditions.

The workers, who have carried out the hard work near the quarries where the corpses are burned, are doing their worship and trying to get their bread out in the temperature of 1500 degrees.

Noting that warmth is not an excuse for fasting, workers say they must work without interruption to raise orders from their customers.

Workers working in iron casting enterprises in Küsget Industrial Estate are pouring iron molds melted at 1500 degrees.

Hasan Döner said that while working in a hot environment is not prevented him from fasting and that he had to spend the day with fasting because of Ramadan and heavy schedule, said that Allah is helping them. He said that he tried to do fasting with Allah's help.

Referring to the fact that no conditions can prevent them from fulfilling Allah’s command, no matter how difficult the circumstances are, “Fasting is our obligation, and nothing can stop us from fasting. Only Allah can help in difficult times.”

Turning out that the environment they work in is extremely hot, Döner said:

"At this moment, the temperature of these quarries is 500 temperature. The temperature of the outside is 38 degrees, then it is 70 degrees inside. The temperature above the oven is a thousand degrees. It gets hard. There's no easy way to do it. But we have to fulfill this fardh of Allah. We work 8 hours a day. No matter how hot this can be, it cannot be as hot as the hell. But there's a way out of that hell. While we are in the world, we must also avoid what they say to avoid, to fulfill what Allah ordered. God knows one's intention after the person wants.”

“It's getting tough, but we have to fast”

Yusuf Yılmaz said, “This is an iron casting operation, so there is always dust, the temperature here is about 70 degrees, and our conditions are very difficult here. For fasting days, we are casting in front of the oven within 70-80 degrees. When the mine melts, the temperature of the oven reaches 1,500 degrees.”

Syrian Muhammad Alluç and Hüseyin Altun stated that fasting in Ramadan is a duty to serve Allah, even under difficult conditions. (İbrahim Koçyiğit – ILKHA)
