People voting today for the 12th term presidential elections in Iran.

Approximately 56.5 million voters will be able to vote. 2 candidates as conservatives and 2 candidates as reformists will run against each other.

If any one of the candidates does not receive more than 50 percent of the votes, the two candidates with the most votes will compete in the 2nd round.

The election to be voted on in 130 thousand polls, which will be established in 63 thousand centers, is expected to pass between President Hasan Ruhani, who is supported by the reformists, and Ibrahim Reisi, the conservative candidate. Mustafa Mirselim and Mustafa Hashimiteba are also on the candidate list.

Before the elections, 2 of the 6 candidates who had been nominated were retired from the race. Reformist candidate Ishak Jihangiri announced his support for the Ruhani, while conservative Tehran Mayor Muhammad Galibaf stated that he stood down in favor of the Reisi.

In addition, the City and Village Council elections will be held simultaneously with these elections. The mayors are selected by the people selected for this council.
