IŞKUR worker Murat Güzel, who survived from two separate explosions that took place within 6 months in the Directorate of Riot at Diyarbakir's Central Bağlar District, told the time of the explosion to ILKHA.

Sur migrated due to conflicts in the province, settling in the Yenişehir district Güzel, witnessed the explosion for the second time in the Riot Force Branch Directorate working as IŞKUR worker. Güzel survivor from both explosions, lost the friends he worked with during the attacks.

Güzel, injured from the arm and hips, said he survived the explosion when he served tea.

Said that he cannot handle anymore what he lived, Güzel added, “I am a victim of Sur, I started to work as a tea-maker at the Police School as an IŞKUR worker. On November 4, 2016 there was an explosion, and at that time I was serving tea. A friend of mine was killed in that explosion. Today, again, there was an explosion, and I survived the explosion as wounded. I cleaned around before the explosion. I brewed the tea. I was going to make a full tea serve after my work was done, then suddenly there was an explosion.”

“It is second time I lost my friend I worked with”

Saying that the parts of the glass and shrapnel hit to his arm and hips in the explosion, Güzel said, “My hips are very aching now, I cannot move. We were shocked at the time of the explosion, we did not know what to do. All the walls were destroyed on us. We had injured friends. We intervened, and even we hauled Yunus Elaltunteri to the ambulance who lost his life. I was shocked during the explosion, they were taken me to the hospital by ambulance. I learned in the hospital that my friend was martyred. If I were in my place during the explosion, I could have injured even worse. I could not get over psychologically for a month because of the first explosion. The second time I lost my friend who I worked with. I witness the second explosion, I cannot take it anymore.”

Sur victim Güzel said, “They dug a mine in front of our house in Sur district. In the morning when my older brother and I saw that they are laying mines in front of our house, we took our father and left our house. After a while we arrived that mines exploded and our house was shattered.” (M.
