“Never cast a clout until March is out,” a famous proverb. In these days people are experiencing the nature of this word.

In March, the first month of the spring season following winter months, people often hope that their air will soften and warm up. But the last lambs of winter live in March. Sometimes this month goes so hard that it will not leave even firewood at home. For this reason “Never cast a clout until March is out” said ancestors.

In general, this expression is used for the hot and cold circulation of the air, but on the other hand, it is also desirable that the rainy March of the month be fed sufficiently to feed the soil. In a proverb in Kurdish "Bibare bahar e ne bare xedar e." "It is spring if it rain, it is scarcity if it not rain.” That is to say if it is rainy in this month then it will be the spring to the next winter, and it there is no rain in this month then there is famine till the next winter.

Now that we are approaching the end of March, it seems that the air has cooled again, especially in the Eastern and Southeastern regions of Turkiye. Hundreds of village roads were closed again due to the particularly effective snowfall.

While 290 in Muş, 90 in Bitlis and 42 in Van, villages cannot be reached, many village which settled in high lands, impossible to reach.

While starting the road trips to rural areas, snow shovel studies are being carried out in the city centers where the snow thickness is 20-30 cm. Citizens are clearing snow masses that accumulate on the roofs of their homes.

As April begins to show up in a few days, the weather is expected to warm up, heavy snow and rainfall have it said “March came in like a lion but not goes out like a lamb.” (Ayetullah Tarhan-ILKHA)
