The terrorist regime Israel, which has delayed talks on new settlements until the end of Barack Obama's term, has approved the construction of 566 new settlements in East Jerusalem.

Reconstruction permits were issued two days after the arrival of the new President of the United States, Donald Trump. Trump gave the messages that he would give strong support to Zionist invader Israel during his election campaign.

Meir Turjeman, Deputy Mayor of East Jerusalem of the occupant regime, said in a statement, "The rules of the game changed as Donald Trump came to the presidency in the US." Turjeman added that the project is in the preparation stage for 11 thousand new settlements in the region.

On December 23, 2016, the UN Security Council decided that "Israel should immediately stop building settlements in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem". However, Netanyahu declared that they would not give up on the construction despite the UN decision and they were threatened with diplomatic sanctions.

Nabil Abu Rudayne, the Speaker of the Palestinian State, condemned Israel's approval of 566 new housing projects in East Jerusalem.

Abu Rudhayne considered the decision as a challenge to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), especially after the decision of 2334, which emphasized that the last settlement units were illegal. (ILKHA)
