Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said that the PKK's presence in Sinjar is unacceptable at a joint press conference with President of Iraqi Kurdistan Masoud Barzani.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, who came to Erbil last night, was interviewed by Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and then Masoud Barzani.

After the meeting, President Barzani and Yıldırım held a joint press conference.

Barzani, who spoke first, said that they found this visit very important. Barzani stated that the visit is a demonstration of the support of the Turkish state and its people to the Kurdistan Region, "We thank the Turkish state and its people for their help.”

Afterwards, Yıldırım stated that they had made important negotiations both in Baghdad and in Erbil.

Yıldırım said: "Our negotiations can be grouped under two headings: one to combat terrorism, the other to work more on economic issues, investment issues and to work more on the peace for the region. Neither Daesh, nor PKK and FETO terrorist organizations are just the issue of Turkiye; they are also issues of Iraq and Syria. On the one hand, these operations are on the way to clear Mosul from Daesh, but on the other hand we continue an operation against the Daesh in Syria with the Euphrates Shield in the southern borders. Our common goal is to take control of this perverted organization and to remove it. International community should give more support to this issue. You are giving great support for those displaced because of Daesh. We have accepted about 300,000 Iraqi brothers, we have opened our house."

Yildirim pointed to the presence of the PKK in Sinjar and said, "We fight against PKK separatist terrorist organization both in the country and in this territory. PKK's assaults from the territory of Iraq to our lands will never be accepted. It will all be done until the end. Spreading of PKK in the Sinjar region is something we can never accept. It is a security issue. Not just Turkiye, but also your security problem. So we need a joint work here. On the other hand, we can not give consent for the PYD to make fait accompli in the Syrian territory. They have displaced The Peshmerga and Arabs living there, they have almost made an occupation."

Yıldırım, gave information about the contacts in Erbil, said, "Our ministers have worked in economic matters, and a commission will be set up in January to discuss the economic issues. So that a business forum will take place in Erbil and we will take necessary measures to further increase the trade. We provide the necessary support for the treatment of the patients. We can further improve this. Where treatments can be done by experts from Turkiye. We will do similar work on energy, transport and education especially I would like to thank you for your support of the closing of FETO schools in this place.”

Yıldırım, ended his speech with “zor spas” word which means thank you in Kurdish. (ILKHA)
