The 15th hearing on the attack on the Mavi Marmara, which was carried out by Israeli soldiers on May 31, 2010, slaughtered 10 people and injured dozens of people, was seen in Çaglayan Courthouse. The Mavi Marmara ship was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.

HUDA PAR Deputy Chairmen Mehmet Yavuz and Erdal Elibüyük, civil society organizations, lawyers, families of those who massacred in the attack and many citizens attended the hearing which was seen in the High Criminal Court.

HUDA PAR Deputy Chairmen Yavuz and Elibüyük made a statement on the subject who closely follow the hearing.

Yavuz drew attention that this case is not a compensation case, and said that they did not find dropping of the case appropriate in legal and human terms.

Yavuz, "We have followed the past session with our party president. There, both the lawyers had objections regarding the essence, and at the same time the prosecutor's opinion on the dropping of the case, citing the Zionist occupation of Israel and Turkiye. The court seems to have focused on the downfall of this case, as the lawyers say. Lawyers have rightful objections to this. As HUDA PAR we are following as well. Normally this is a criminal case, not a compensation case. We want to express that we do not find it appropriate in terms of both legal and humanitarian as well as Islamic that the court to drop due to the treaty between Turkiye and Israel."

"This attack of the Zionist Israel is a crime against humanity"

Yavuz voicing that they are with those who own the victims' families and the case of Mavi Marmara, continued as follow:

"We think that an action carried out by hundreds of activists on the way to an innocent cause in the international waters is resulted of bloodshed by the Zionist occupation terrorist regime, martyred of ten people, deprivation of hundreds of people for freedom, and so much injuries are not related to humanity. We therefore regard this attack as a crime against humanity. We are expressing that we are with those who support this case and are at the back of the martyrs."

"Muslims should raise their fights around Masjid al-Aqsa"

Yavuz added that they would never forget the massacres in the attack on the Mavi Marmara and added that "We will say that we will not forget that the cause of Mavi Marmara and our martyrs, doesn’t matter how the result of this case ends. We are saying that the dropping of this case by the reason of an international treaty does not have a legitimacy both in the conscientious conscience and in the presence of all Muslims. We have brothers and sisters who have been prosecuted and investigated, have undergone physical punishment for this claim, and have been sentenced to prison by the judges and prosecutors of the FETO. All the Islamic circles should raise their energy and their struggle around the Masjid al-Aqsa."

"A big shame to martyrs"

HUDA PAR Chairman Erdal Elibüyük said, "During the trial, the lawyers evaluate the unlawfulness inside, but this case turned out to be a political outcome if we were going to make a political evaluation. In fact, this treaty between Israel and Turkiye is not the amount of compensation given to Turkey as a result of this treaty. We think that this case should not result in this way. It is a big shame to martyrs. It is regrettable that such a struggle has resulted in political interests. As far as we can see, it's not a court, it's a theater.” (ILKHA)
