"We lost our daughter, we not want to lose our son too"

Family in Mardin lost a child of Cystic Fibrosis failure and the second child of Molla's family was diagnosed with the same disease. The Molla family, who addressed the authorities in tears, express that they do not want to live the same pain but are helpless.

Azize Molla, who went from Mardin Nusaybin to Lebanon and married there, lost her daughter Besna who was born in Lebanon to Cystic Fibrosis at the age of five. Azize Molla, who had never been accustomed of losing her daughter, was once again ruined when she learned that the 6-year-old boy Eymen is also suffering from the same disease.

Azize Molla, who spoke to the authorities through ILKHA, expressed her desperation with the following words, "We lost our daughter, and we do not want to lose our son too. I cannot live if I lose him."

Mrs. Azize Molla, who was originally from Nusaybin and reminded that they were residing in Lebanon in 2001, said that her they had entered Turkiye in 2014 for treatment following the onset of Eymen's Cystic Fibrosis.

"We lost 20 thousand dollars away to scammers"

Lady Azize, stated that they have spent everything they had because of the same kind of disease in Lebanon for Besna, and added, "We were even buying a medicine with $3,000. But she passed away, we lost our daughter. We only got 20 thousand dollars. We decided with my husband to move to Sweden. Those who would take us to Sweden had swindled us, we lost our $ 20,000. Then we went to Iraq. My aunt was in there, we went to visit her. But in there they put us in jail for 6-7 months by saying, ‘you are Syrian citizens, your passports are fake.’ After the court we came to Nusaybin. Then we came to Mardin due to conflicts in Nusaybin."

"I cannot afford the needs of my children"

Mrs. Azize said that in the years when she lived in Lebanon, her financial situation was very good and she even sent her children to private schools. She said that they are now in need.

Mrs. Azize, "We have three children. They want something every day but I cannot afford. So I feel very sorry. My psychology was so bad that I had to use medication now. We are looking for work, nobody is giving a job. My husband does not speak Turkish because he is Lebanese. I do not know which door to knock now. I'm in a very difficult situation."

"Because we forced to live in a damp house the disease is progressing"

Pointing to the fact that the house they are in is damp, causing the illness of their children be progressed. Azize said, "My child is sick. Allah bless, the Foundation for Social Welfare helped 600 TL for the treatment of the child. But we live in a basement now, the house is all damp that’s why child's illness progressing. When we went to the doctor, he said that the child was not getting better because the house was damp. But there's nothing I can do. In the winter the house is flooding, dripping. We are waiting for help from the authorities, we want them give us a job opportunity. I just want a job, we will work if there is job. My husband, my children and I too were crushed and upset."

Speaking in the tears, call to authorities in desperation, Azize said, "I had a daughter named Besna at the age of 5. I lost her because of the cystic fibrosis. My son Eymen is suffering from the same disease. I lost my daughter and I do not want to lose my son either. There's nothing coming from my hand, I'm desperate."

Eymen, who was forced to use a breathing respirator every day due to his illness and was brought to Diyarbakir for treatment continuously, demanded help from philanthropists stating that he wanted to laugh and play comfortably like his peers.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis, seen in every 3-4 thousand babies in Turkey, can result in death if not diagnosed early. The disease affects the secretory glands of many organs from birth and can lead to malfunctions. The disease often affects the lung, pancreas, liver, intestines, sinuses and reproductive organs.

Signs and symptoms of the disease

There are indications like respiratory infections and dyspnea in the patient's sputum, frequent and prolonged cough, chronic, bronchitis, wheezing.

Treatment
