After the demise of Hüseyin Akbalık who had been jailed for his Islamic identity and remained in various prisons for 24 years, his family and loved ones went through the pain.

Meryem Akbalık, who suffered great distress after the demise of her son who had been away for many years from her, said that another of her son had been slaughtered by the PKK and said, " I have lost two cherries of my cheek on the path of Allah”.

Hüseyin Akbalık's 18-year-old brother Abdurrahman was slaughtered by the PKK while working on the field on July 2, 1992, and Hüseyin, who was detained later, was arrested and sent to prison. Hüseyin Akbalık, who demised the day before after the long prison years, was buried beside his brother Abdurrahman.

While losing his father in prison in 2009, Hüseyin Akbalık lived the sadness of not seeing his father for the last time. The conviction of Akbalık started at the age of 24, ended with his demise.

Meryem Akbalık, mother of Hüseyin Akbalık, who is 86 years old, expressed his feelings about his son as follows: "Allah gave me a son, raised and then examined me. One son was martyred, the other son went to prison. He sacrificed his life in prisons, lost his life. I do not regret it O Rabbi. This is the command of Allah, not of His servants. Praise and thanks to Allah."

Mother Akbalık, who observed that she protected her steadiness against the demise of her son, and said, "The life of my son went on the path of Allah and His Messenger. Thank to Allah, their lives didn’t went on the wrong path. And O Rabbi! Make good the journey of my Hüseyin, save us from worse troubles and misfortunes. This is the command of Allah, and we are willing. Allah, do not make us go on the wrong paths. We come from Allah and we will return to Him again. I have lost two cherries of my cheek on the path of Allah. O Rabbi, accept them."

Mother Akbalık who said that the life of his son was sacrificed on the path of Allah, and that she was grateful for it, said, "Not now, I have always dreamed him since he entered the dungeon. I dreamed about him so much that hurt so badly in my heart. What shall we do, it is our Lord's command, not His’ servants. My Lord gave me my son, put it up and put the prison and tested him. He fed his life in prison, lost his life."

Idris Akbalık, a 30-year-old nephew of Hüseyin Akbalık, said that he had no memories with his uncle while expressing his feelings.

İdris Akbalık, "My uncle after he was out in prison, we were going to see with my grandmother. We were always going to different prisons because they were exiled him from one prison to another. Both my uncle and we suffered of persecution. My granddad lost his life when my uncle was in prison. Neither did my granddad see him nor did he see his father. A few days before the Ramadan holiday in 2016, a news came from prison. My uncle was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with heavy illness, had surgery. Now Allah took him back to his level. Maybe a Hüseyin has gone, but then thousands of Hüseyin will come, thousands of Hüseyin will grow up."

Halil Akbalık, another nephew of the Akbalık, said, "I was a baby when my uncle was arrested. He was a young man when they put him in prison. I've never seen my uncle youth. When I saw him, he was bedridden at the age of 50 and was in his deathbed. I only saw my uncle for a month who was 48 years old. That is when he came to Istanbul for treatment and I was his accompanist. There was no time talking to my uncle to remember. I did not have a proper conversation with him."

Adding that he was suffering from the loss of 2 of uncles, Akbalık added, "An uncle took by PKK and the other one from the state. My 86 year-old grandmother, what will she do now, how do to bear to this pain? My uncle was released for treatment, but he passed away. He passed away as a prisoner. This shame is enough for the state. Allah, in this world and in the hereafter, may not leave our rights to those who have caused these grievances. May Allah accept his demise as a martyr. We accept it as a martyr."  (ILKHA)
