After Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has explained the last education package, Yusuf Kaplan lecturer of Sabahaddin Zaim University evaluated to ILKHA how proper education pattern for our society must be and remarked that there won’t be a new change with short-range education packages.

Kaplan recorded the need to switch a new education patter by taking accumulations and dynamics of Islamic Civilization into consideration and added that start all over again a new education model need to be constructed in Turkiye.

Kaplan remarked that new short-range innovations in education in Turkiye won’t bring any benefit, in Turkiye, it accelerating secularization instead. “Features of Turkish education system turns children into a slave for West’s culture and it gets raising with secular and positivist properties. Turkish education system definitely need to take revolutionary steps.”

An Education system that will raise Mewlana Rumis is in need

Kaplan asked “You will constituted an education system, according to what you going to raise your children in that education system?” and added that there should be a clear answer for that question.

Kaplan continued his explanation: “Are we raising man in this current education system who globally known? Are we raising scientists, artificers? No. An education system is in need that will raise new Al-Ghazalis, Avicennas, Ibn Arabis, Imam Rabbanies, Itris, Yunus Emres, Mewlana Rumis and Mimar Sinans. The only what our universities do, is extremely transfer what produces in West to here. Are they transfer completely? No. Are they raising man like Descartes who establish modernity in West and then Hegel, Schopenhauer, Russell, Nietzsche and children of Nietzsche? Are they raising man like Derrida, Delius, and Foucault which are names from postmodern thought? No. They just transfer these blindly. And transfer their caricatures. I especially want to underline this.”

Turkiye has no invaded from outside, seized from inside

Kaplan stated that a liberty war carried out on these lands and added, “We had a liberty war against colonialists. We did more than they would if they could colonize this country. We did more what colonialists couldn’t brave to do. Turkiye hasn’t invaded from outside, seized from inside. We are the only country in the world they couldn’t be colonize but we colonized ourselves. It happened with education that the moving Islam away from the state and all institutions. This society is a Muslim society but there is no Muslim education system. People are struggling to not lose their children in education system.”

We are going to vanish amid two generations in 10 years if we couldn’t shape the future of society with education

Kaplan emphasized that a transition on civilization dynamics of Islam is in need for education and curriculum and added, “That time actual spirit will be given. There are 5 essential principles that an education system must give to their children: Spirit, morals, ideal, self-confidence and modesty. Those are things actually Islamic education model demands. If we can’t rebuild our education system, our civilization dynamics and if we don’t an education system that will newly raise Al-Ghazalis, Itris, Mimar Sinans and Sheikh Galips, then all attempts in education will backlash. It will end with the suicide of society. We will be vanished between two generations if we can’t shape the future of society in education, in culture, in media, in youth field according to our civilization dynamics.”

You raise people according to West’s culture, is this ‘National Education’

Kaplan then added and asked, “You are going to raise a human right? According to what are you going to raise that human? According to which culture are you going to raise that human? You raise human according to West culture. Is this national education? That’s why no global man raised. Societies who ignore their young people, they destroy their futures.
