Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, in the statement he made on the agenda in presidential complex emphasized that it is out of question the agreement with PYD.

Mentioned to Operation Euphrates Shield, Kalin said that the purpose of operation is to ensure security of borders, safety of life and property in the region in Syria and to clean all terrorist elements from the region.

Kalin indicated that the operation have carried out so far, “Like it is expressed before, the purpose of operation first to fight with ISIL and other terror elements include YPG, ensure security of our borders and clear of our border from all of terrorist elements. In this regard, Turkiye use his right stemming from international law; also perform this operation by acting with the coalition in fight against ISIL. In this point, there are various speculations made from time to time. The main purpose of the operation is to ensure the security of our borders and clean of all terror elements from our borders. From time to time we hear statements especially from US officers that equating Turkiye with the PYD and YPG. These are not acceptable. Turkiye is a sovereign country; it is an ally of NATO, one of the most powerful actors in the region. Of course we can’t accept that they evaluate Turkiye with such an organization. From the beginning our statements are curtain about the Operation Euphrates Shield. On this issue, necessary coordination and briefings had been made with coalition, US and Russia; from time to time comments are made in the opposite direction trying to manifest some doubts. Turkiye has no problem with Syrian Kurds

Kalin continued to his speech: “From time to time we see the propaganda of terror organization has find place in mainstream political discourses, I like to express our discomfort on this occasion. Operation Euphrates Shield is an operation to clear the south of Jarablus, completely carrying out against ISIL and other terror organizations in there. We condemn this, which portrays an action against Syrian Kurds and to block the achievement of Kurds, this is out of question. Turkiye has no problem with Syrian Kurds. Turkiye has no problem with Kurds in Turkiye, with Kurds in Iran; thereby Turkiye has no problem with Kurds in region and in the world or with any human in the region. We have a PKK problem; we have a terror organizations problem. Although the Syrian regime hasn’t mentioned name of Kurd, our President in 2008-2009-2010 brought into question to Asad regime the identity right of Kurds, to give them identity carts, advised investments need to be done the region; it was even before the Arab spring and war in Syria. Again during the Kobani events it was Turkiye brought around 200 thousand people which most of them were Kurds into Turkiye in a week, urgently without making any discrimination. That’s why, showing this like it is an action against Kurds, is only and only being an instrument to terror propaganda.”

PKK is in effort like similar cantonal structure in Syria

Kalin indicated that PKK trying for an actual state in Syria that they couldn’t do in Turkiye, Iraq and Iran with excuse of Syrian war under the color of ‘we fight against ISIL’, “So they are in an effort for a terrorist-support state structure, statelet structure. Of course the toleration of Turkiye and other countries in the region to these is out of question. We think that this issue needs to be seen clearly and net by our Western allies. ”

Kalin said that on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in the context of humanitarian aid, a second aid ship will set sail in a few days.  

Deal with PYD is our of question

On the reminder of a reporter about the explanation of US Central Forces that PYD had agreement with Turkiye, Kalin, “Deal with PYD is out of question like it reflected to press yesterday.” he answered.

Kalin, “There is a process started on the operation of Manbij if you remember, Americans themselves said and announced a date personally to us. Remember what was it? During the Manbij operation, YPG elements will not enter to Manbij, because majority of people in Manbij are Arabs, and local elements would take power and secure the city. And YPG and other elements would leave the city urgently. Now look, it has been two weeks passed, we entered to third week, each time just a bit more time comes to the agenda. However we have been told that those elements would withdraw urgently after the operation ended.”

The tale of ‘the only effective power fights against ISIL is YPG’ has collapsed with operation of Jarablus

Kalin, “Especially the tale that western presses bring forward ‘the only effective and credible power fights against ISIL is YPG’ has been collapsed by the operation of Jarablus. In this case, when given proper support to the Syrian moderate opposition, these other groups can give extremely effective fights against ISIL. So when these groups which consisted of Syrians, these oppositions are supported, they can give effective fighting against ISIL in any point of Syria. The real purpose of YPG should be seen here. We all have seen what happened in Tal Abyad. Human right organizations themselves announced in their reports what happened in there, destroy of villages, change of demographic structure, banishment of people, smothered the voice of oppositions, when we look at all these, in fact war crimes have been worded in their papers.
